HELLO FROM GUANGZHOU, CHINA!

Hi Everyone,

After what was probably the longest day we've ever experienced, we made it safely to Guangzhou, China. We left Portland, Oregon on Saturday morning, allowing much more time than was needed for airport security. We flew to LAX and stayed at the Marriott for the best few hours we could have paid for. Thanks to our old neighbor who works for Marriott, we got a good rate that made the 3 1/2 hour stay worthwhile. It was the best layover as Megan was able to swim in the pool and we freshened up before the long wait at LAX. We left at midnight for a 15 hour flight, arriving Monday morning at 6am

We had a welcome brunch at a Chinese seafood restaurant, which the last time we were here, displayed an alligator on ice, ready to be served to whoever ordered it!! This time, the most exotic things were sea turtles.

Megan's already made a few friends. There are about 10 children along for the trip so Megan is having a great time.

We're back at the hotel trying to stay awake til at least 7pm so we won't wake up during the night! Tomorrow is the big day! We head to the Chinese government offices to get baby Erin at 2:30pm. It's all very surreal...jet lag and my very fuzzy brain probably contributes to it!
