Caught the Big One!

Forgot to post about our big adventure on Saturday! We were driving to Mt. Hood area to do some exploring when we saw the signs for Rainbow Trout Farm! Totally unprepared, we were happy that they provided everything you needed to fish. This was a new experience for me, coming from Hawaii, only knowing fishing in the ocean. And the "farm" part....hmmm...no paying for a fishing license and spending hours hoping to catch something?

We thought it would be a fun thing for Megan to do with her big brother Eric. Needless to say, we all had a great time and Eric caught the "trophy fish" - 19 inches long! The best part about trout farm fishing -- they gut the fish for you and bag it in ice! We did have to scale it and cut it to pan fry. Still a lot of work, but it was worth it. The fish tasted so good!

I don't think we'll be fishing regularly, but we'll definitely be doing it again!
